Give a big welcome to Penny from West Valley Shelter! This middle-aged gal is a sweet ball of love, and great with all people and dogs! Penny was quite overweight, missing a bit of hair, and had some infections (all have since been cleared up) but none of that got in the way of her ability to cuddle, wiggle, and smile. When we agreed to take her into our program, every shelter volunteer and employee came up to give her a kiss and a hug goodbye, as she was a staff favorite. They all talked about how Penny "never complained" and always had a gentle happy smile.

Penny is currently being fostered in a home with 2 little dogs, 2 cats, and a toddler. She is extremely loving and patient with kids and would make a great family dog. As mentioned, Penny does great with other dogs, but she is more selective with cats, so we believe if she were to go to a home with cats she would need a slow, patient introduction. Penny listens incredibly well to direction. She loves to go on walks, and gets very excited when she sees her leash, and she has slowly but surely been getting into bikini shape for the summer.

Since coming to ACPB, Penny has been on a healthy diet and gotten some much needed meds, has dropped some weight, and her coat has come in shiny and soft. She's crate and potty trained, up to date on shots, walks well on a leash, and just wants to love everyone she meets! She has come a long way from the days at the shelter, and we are so excited about her future. Could it be with you?!
