Dove is a beautiful boy with special needs. He is a shy dog and not surprisingly, prefers to take it slowly with introductions to new people. While he still is learning to trust new humans, he views all dogs - and even cats - as his best friends. In addition to patience and love, Dove comes along with a very specific requirement for a prospective family - a home with at least one other dog. As Dove builds his confidence to explore and interact with new situations, he deeply benefits from another dog to leading the way. He also needs canines for playtime – you have never seen a dog play with such happy abandon!

Dove's ideal home would also come without loud noises, sudden movements, or high-volume voices. Dove requires a lot of snuggling, so be prepared to administer hugs, back scratches, kisses, and belly rubs. All that affection serves an important purpose, it helps him to truly enjoy physical contact and as his confidence builds, he becomes more affectionate in return.

Dove is about eighteen months old, 50 pounds, microchipped, crate-trained, house-trained, up-to-date on routine shots and is learning his basic commands at Turnaround Training's puppy class. We recommend that he continue group training classes after adoption to further his socialization and help him build even more confidence.
