Moe's Story: A couple months ago, Moe was rescued by Operation Blankets of Love, and brought to one of our trusted vets, Dr. Jeff Werber of CVG, for surgery on his back leg which was badly fractured and needed to be amputated. Dr. Jeff called us at Angel City Pit Bulls to help care for Moe post-surgery and help network him for adoption once he was well. Sadly, however, when they opened Moe up for surgery, the vets were stunned to see what looked like cancer. Tests were immediately taken and samples sent to the lab... and we all quietly waited for the results. They came back days later confirming the terrible news: Moe had terminal cancer - Osteosarcoma. We talked amongst ourselves, and one of our board members chose on the spot to ADOPT him. Moe became one of our own dogs, where he remained til God ultimately adopted him.

His cancer was incredibly aggressive (esp because he was so young) and once it progressed into his lungs... He had much less much time than we had hoped for (days rather than months) so we took to showering him with as much love as we possibly could. Moe was an AMAZING dog and we adored him very much. We feel incredibly privileged to have had him in our lives, even for such a brief time.

Thank you everyone for sending him your good thoughts, as well as sending them to us... It's been hard for our team to know that even the ones we SAVE sometimes, can't be saved.
