Carmela joined us from the South LA shelter where she won us over with her sweet demeanor. Initially a little timid, Carmela warmed up quickly in her foster home. In time, she revealed herself to be an expert napper, great backyard assistant, and even helps her foster dad cook steaks on the grill. She has a flexible energy level and is equally happy to go hiking or to enjoy her tank bone on a relaxed day.

Carmela enjoys spending time with her foster family, and has enjoyed meeting the kids around her neighborhood too! We think Carmela would do well with a well-matched canine companion, but would be just as happy to be the only dog in the home.

Just over 1 year old and 55 pounds, Carmela is crate-trained, house-trained, micro-chipped, up to date on routine vaccinations and working on her basic commands.
