2nd Annual Angel City Pit Bulls Yard Sale

We are very excited about our 2nd Annual Angel City Pit Bulls Yard Sale!

TIME: 7:30 AM til ... ?

PLACE: 3497 McLaughlin Ave. , Mar Vista 90066

Our inaugural yard sale last July was a huge success; it was also how I became a part of Angel City Pit Bulls. I had recently started following Angel City Pit Bulls on Facebook, and had fallen in love with a couple of their then adoptable dogs (Abigail and Maggie). My friends and I had done a yard sale the previous year for Team in Training, and wanted to do another one for a different charity. We are all dog lovers, so we decided that we wanted a local dog rescue to benefit from our sale.

Right around this time, I had heard that Angel City Pit Bulls had just taken on a couple of medical cases (Wilbur and Moose). Having two pit bulls of my own - as well as a wealth of experience with costly medical conditions - it proved an easy decision for me to make Angel City Pit Bulls the beneficiary of our sale. After a hard day’s work of wheeling and dealing with tons of yard sale shoppers, we raised over $1200!

The folks at Angel City Pit Bulls were ecstatic over our donation, and I soon realized that we were also all very like-minded individuals, wanting to help pit bulls in Los Angeles. I found myself signing up to be a volunteer, and shortly thereafter was promoted to the position of Alumni Coordinator. My job is an important one, but a fun one as well - I get to follow up with the adoptive families and keep the connections on an ongoing basis. I get to hear the stories and collect the photos of the dogs in their forever homes, thriving and living the lives they've always deserved!

For the Yard Sale - the most important part of making this event a success is having a nice inventory of “sellable” items. We found that in hard economic times, people want to help but cannot always necessarily give money. They are, however, eager to donate household items that they no longer need. A little spring cleaning can go a long way!

We are currently accepting donations of the following items:

  • Home, Office & Outdoor Furnishings
  • Housewares
  • Kitchen Items
  • Small Appliances
  • Electronics
  • Gently used children’s toys, furniture and clothing
  • Collectables
  • Garden tools & decorations
  • Pet items
  • Gently used sporting equipment

We are not accepting books or clothing at this time.

If you have items to donate, please contact me at tracy@angelcitypits.org to coordinate. As we are a 501(c)3 charity, all donations are tax deductible as well!

Thanks for your support!
