Petey our honorary pit bull has been adopted! Petey's new family saw him when he was networked by their dog trainer, who also happened to be Petey's original foster mom. The went to meet him at the NKLA Pet Adoption Center where he was patiently waiting for his forever family to meet him - and he didn't have to wait for long!
Joanie's new dad contacted us looking for a young and athletic dog. Perfect for Joanie who is named after world class US marathoner, Joan Benoit, she was the first of three meet and greets we scheduled. The other two meet-and-greets never happened - as soon as her dad met her he was sure she was the perfect fit for him.
Maddie (fka Misty May) has been adopted! Some time ago, Maddie's new family (a pair of sisters) heard about ACPB after running into one of our volunteers and foster dogs. Shortly after one of the two sisters lost her Jack Russell/Pit Bull terrier mix, Margo, to old age. When they saw Misty May's photo online, they were smitten with her.
Brooklyn's family filled out an adoption questionnaire for her, but she already had a scheduled meet and greet with another family. They were bummed but patiently waited for news on Brooklyn's availability; it turned out that Brooklyn wasn't quite the right fit for her first meet and greet, but she was the perfect fit for this family!
Mercy (fka Megan) has been adopted! Mercy's family contacted us interested in adopting a dog. We thought that Megan would be a good fit and referred them to the NKLA Pet Adoption Center where she was patiently waiting for her forever family. They had their meet and greet with here there and the adoption was official.
Jefferson has been adopted via the NKLA Pet Adoption Center! Jefferson's family contacted us interested in adoption. While arranging meet and greets with our foster dogs, they decided to head to the NKLA Pet Adoption Center to meet available dogs. There they met 3 dogs, narrowed it down to 2, and then brought their pit bull mix, Violet (on the right in the photo) in to make the final selection - and it was Jefferson!
Jelly's family filled out an adoption questionnaire wanting a puppy 8 to 12 weeks old and we just happened to the perfect little lady. Already experienced dog guardians of a lovely pit bull named Penn, they wrote on the questionnaire, "We love pits and want to give one a home and the love she deserves."
Teddy has been adopted! Teddy's new family filled out a foster questionnaire with ACPB earlier this year. When we spoke with them, they told us they actually wanted to adopt first. Lucky for Teddy, who was recovering from demodectic mange, he was ready to move into a foster home.
Oren (fka Autumn) has been adopted! Oren's family are ACPB volunteers who have expressed interest in a few of our foster dogs recently. Already proud guardians of a handsome guy named Tate and devoted volunteers, we knew they were a great family.
Josie's family came to ACPB looking to adopt a dog who is very social and could happily enjoy playtime with other dogs in a shared backyard. Her new family is very active - they love walks and running. Although, at the same time they also love to snuggle and cuddle, so it's a win-win new home for Josie.
